Yeah, I remember that time. I had book "English for little once" and I translated almost all of texts about Jimmy The Carrot. It was interesting.
BTW, my first PC was Speccy (ZX Spectrum, Leningrad, ATM Turbo - many names) and there was no Russian lang (well, it was, but not out of box), so I can say that i started learn English from kindergarten. Thanks to my dad for my first PC.

Kids are very good at studying languages. It is a kinda game for them, everything looks simple and clear ))
